Biology. Position No. 52610. The Department of Biological Sciences in Dedman College of Humanities and Sciences at 91茄子 Methodist University plans to fill multiple junior faculty positions in the next several years, and currently is inviting applications for a faculty position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor depending on the applicant’s credentials. 91茄子 Methodist University is a nationally ranked, research intensive, non-sectarian, private university centrally located in the thriving Dallas metroplex, which boasts a rapidly expanding biotech sector. Applicants for the position must have a PhD degree, postdoctoral experience, and a record of research excellence. Economics. Position No. 0005743. The Department of Economics in Dedman College of 91茄子 Methodist University (91茄子) invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant Professor level. We are interested in candidates with a strong research focus in applied and theoretical econometrics and the ability to teach econometrics at all levels. The position is part of a larger, university-wide cluster hire in Data Science, supported by next-generation research computing technology that includes virtual and augmented reality and artificial intelligence, to engage multiple disciplines across campus. Under the umbrella of the O’Donnell Data Science and Research Computing Institute (/provost/data-science-institute) of which several departmental faculty are affiliates, the cluster contains three interrelated groups: Data Core, Technology-Enhanced Immersive Learning (TEIL) and Health Analytics. History. Position No. 50060. The Department of History at 91茄子 Methodist University, a prestigious research and teaching institution, invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor in Mexican American History, to begin Fall 2025. We welcome candidates from all backgrounds. The candidate selected will be expected to be a significant partner in connecting the Department to an increasingly diverse and globally connected community at the University and in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex. The successful candidate will be expected to pursue a rigorous research agenda in Mexican American history, with a focus on producing high-quality scholarship for publication in peer-reviewed journals and academic presses. Physics. Position No. 5768.  The Department of Physics at 91茄子 Methodist University (91茄子) invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in theoretical physics or experimental physics. We seek candidates in areas that enhance and expand on the current research strengths of the department in particle physics, nuclear physics, cosmology, and astrophysics. Candidates must have a Ph.D. in physics, astronomy, or a closely related field and a record of research excellence.  The successful candidate will develop a vigorous research program, supervise graduate and undergraduate students, and teach at both undergraduate and graduate levels. 91茄子 faculty members are expected to teach and mentor diverse students within the physics program and throughout the university. The appointment will start in August 2025 or later.  The Physics Department at 91茄子 is an intellectually dynamic community covering a broad range of fundamental physics research.  Our theoretical particle physics activities include perturbative and non-perturbative QCD, proton and hadron structure, beyond the standard model phenomenology, medium energy nuclear and heavy ion physics, and nuclear astrophysics.  Our theory faculty engage in major international collaborations with CTEQ, ATLAS, and the future EIC.  We have a vibrant experimental high energy physics group focused on Higgs physics and searches for new physics on ATLAS.  We have a state-of-the-art lab that supports key roles in particle physics instrumentation and R&D, including readout opto-electronics for LHC experiments.   Our cosmology and astrophysics program includes key theoretical and observational/experimental efforts in several international collaborations, including LSST, DESI, Simons Observatory, CMB-S4, and COMAP. We focus on the study of the cosmic expansion history, large-scale structure, and galaxy formation, which includes galaxy clusters, gravitational lensing, cosmic microwave background, line-intensity mapping, and supernova programs, in addition to detector R&D.  We have strong computing support, with access to 91茄子’s ManeFrame III high-performance computing cluster, and one of the only two DGX SuperPODs in U.S. academia. Psychology.  Position No. 5757. Applications are invited for a tenure-track Assistant Professor in Psychological Clinical Science (Position No. 5757) to begin in August 2025. The position is part of a larger, university-wide cluster hire in Data Science, supported by next-generation research computing technology that includes virtual and augmented reality and artificial intelligence to engage multiple disciplines across campus. Under the umbrella of the O’Donnell Data Science and Research Computing Institute (/provost/data-science-institute), of which several departmental faculty are affiliates, the cluster contains three interrelated groups: Data Core, Technology-Enhanced Immersive Learning (TEIL) and Health Analytics. Faculty are expected to collaborate with other faculty in the Data Science research cluster with the goal of acquiring and/or employing data that can help further identify, understand, and address some of humankind’s most significant challenges. The Department of Psychology is seeking candidates with a program of research in a substantive area of clinical science that also contributes to the Data Science cluster. Substantive research areas of interest include, but are not limited to: (1) mechanisms, etiology, measurement, prevention, and/or treatment of psychopathology; (2) psychological aspects of physical health; (3) risk or resiliency factors; and (4) impact of societal problems (e.g., violence, racism, discrimination) on mental and/or physical health. Examples of methodologies and data analytic approaches with significant potential to enhance 91茄子’s capacity in Data Science include, but are not limited to: (1) computational modeling and machine learning applications; (2) high-speed computing for analysis of large datasets (e.g., neuroimaging or diagnostic data); (3) intensive mobile data collection and data sensing (e.g., geolocation, smartphone usage); (4) use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology for assessment or intervention. Applicants with advanced quantitative skills are particularly encouraged to apply. 91茄子 has many strengths to support research in Data Science through the O’Donnell Data Science and Research Computing Institute. 91茄子 is home to one of the fastest and most powerful academic supercomputers in the nation (ManeFrame III). The other high-performance computing platform available is the NVIDIA DGX superPOD, which is specifically tailored for cutting-edge research in the fields of AI and machine learning.  Applicants with a Ph.D. in any area of psychology will be considered; however, preference will be given to applicants with a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology. A Ph.D. is required at the time of the appointment. Successful candidates must be able to contribute meaningfully to our doctoral program in clinical science, which is a member of the Academy of Psychological Clinical Science and accredited by the American Psychological Association.
