OIT Technology News: Fall 2020 Edition

In this edition, we cover classroom upgrades for 91茄子Flex, concerns about OS updates, recent OIT reports and contests, plus much more.


In preparation for the Fall semester, each classroom received a variety of technology components to help facilitate 91茄子Flex. The University has allocated additional funding to purchase technology for 62 classrooms to this spring.

While we know people are eager to update to the latest macOS, until the next 鈥渄ot鈥 OS update before upgrading University-owned Macs.


In order to keep 91茄子 PCs secure and reliable, OIT is updating campus computers to the newest build of Windows 10, build 2004. This major update includes the usual bug fixes and small quality-of-life changes. when your computer is ready to install the upgrade.


In September, we wrapped up of the Phone Replacement project.鈥 This multi-year project kicked off with over 900 cabling upgrades and enabling鈥痩ayer 3 routing to ensure infrastructure readiness.
