New Internship Program Places Meadows Students in Paid Positions
91ÇÑ×Ó Meadows’ new PMC Intern Fellowship program subsidizes five paid internships for Meadows students at Dallas-based arts, communication and media organizations.

Regardless of what our students are studying at Meadows, we want them to graduate feeling confident and prepared in pursuit of their career goals. This endeavor now includes a program that will help make internships feasible and accessible for all students.
The new PMC Foundation Intern Fellowship program, made possible by a partnership between Meadows’ Office of Alumni and Career Success (ACS) and the PMC Esping Foundation, will subsidize five paid internships reserved exclusively for Meadows undergraduate students at Dallas-based arts, communication and media organizations.
When it was determined that the goals of ACS were closely aligned with the mission of the PMC Esping Foundation – an organization committed to helping underserved and low-income students achieve their full potential by expanding education access and success beyond high school – a natural partnership was formed and the new program was established.
“For Meadows students with limited financial resources, unpaid internships are often not an option, making paid opportunities essential for ensuring equitable access to professional experiences,” explains Assistant Dean for Alumni and Career Success, Timmie Hathorn, who helped establish the PMC Foundation Intern Fellowship. “At the same time, many arts and communication organizations offer high-quality internships that provide valuable industry experience but lack the funding to compensate interns adequately. This program bridges that gap – helping students access meaningful opportunities while enabling organizations to benefit from skilled interns without financial strain.”
For its inaugural class of internships, the program has connected with local businesses that are open to students in a variety of Meadows-based majors. The Business Council for the Arts, D Magazine, the Dallas Film Society and International Film Festival, the Loomis Agency, and Nasher Sculpture Center have all partnered with the school to offer paid internships to students majoring in Advertising, Art, Art History, Creative Computing, CCPA, Fashion Media or Journalism.
Students can apply for internship roles ranging from Editorial and External Affairs to Programming and Brand Strategy. Each of these positions will allow students to not only gain valuable industry experience but also make an impact at the organization with their work. Some participating organizations, like Business Council for the Arts, have been greatly impressed by their previous Meadows interns and are excited to continue partnering with the school in this new capacity.
“Thanks to the comprehensive education they receive, [Meadows] students arrive with a deep understanding of the diversity and richness of the North Texas arts ecosystem; this strong foundation allows them to hit the ground running, making meaningful contributions from day one,” says Stacie Wheelock Adams, Chief Executive Officer at Business Council for the Arts. “Programs like the PMC Foundation Intern Fellowship are invaluable in helping students translate their knowledge into real-world experience while strengthening the future of our creative sector.”
This opportunity has students buzzing with excitement and the applications have flooded in. As of the priority consideration deadline, ACS has received a total of 141 applications from 71 individual candidates and applications will continue to be accepted until the final deadline on Friday, March 14.
With the widespread interest and potential of the program, the PMC Foundation Intern Fellowship is proving to be a “win” for all involved – students, employer partners, the school and the benefactors who are making it possible.
